RTA Adds Direct Metro Route to Ease Red Line Rush

<p><strong>Dubai Metro Launches New Direct Red Line Service to Ease Peak-Hour Congestion</strong></p><p><strong>Dubai:</strong> The <strong>Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)</strong> has introduced a <strong>new direct metro route on the Red Line</strong> to help commuters navigate busy hours more smoothly. The latest service connects <strong>Centrepoint Station</strong> to <strong>Al Fardan Exchange Station</strong>, providing an additional travel option during morning and evening rush hours.</p><p>This new route joins the existing direct connections — <strong>Centrepoint to Expo City Dubai</strong> and <strong>Centrepoint to Life Pharmacy Station</strong> — bringing the total to <strong>three direct Red Line links</strong>.</p><p><strong>Enhanced Commuter Experience</strong><br>Passengers can now enjoy <strong>shorter journeys</strong> and less crowded trains. Previously, travellers to Expo City Dubai or Life Pharmacy Station had to transfer at <strong>Jebel Ali</strong>, but the direct service now <strong>saves time and avoids delays</strong>. Red Line trains will alternate between <strong>Expo City Dubai</strong> and <strong>UAE Exchange</strong>, while also directly serving <strong>Life Pharmacy Station</strong> and <strong>Al Fardan Exchange Station</strong>. Commuters are encouraged to check <strong>real-time display boards</strong> for updates.</p><p><strong>Reducing Congestion and Delays</strong><br>Since its <strong>trial launch in August 2024</strong>, the direct routes have already <strong>cut overcrowding</strong>, <strong>reduced waiting times</strong>, and <strong>improved overall metro efficiency</strong>. Additional RTA staff were deployed initially to guide passengers and ensure smooth operations.</p><p>The new service is part of RTA’s <strong>long-term urban mobility plan</strong>, aimed at <strong>boosting capacity</strong> and <strong>enhancing convenience</strong> as metro ridership continues to grow across Dubai.</p>
