The timing coincides with the <strong>start of the new school year</strong>, offering relief to thousands of daily commuters.</p><p><strong>What’s Changed?</strong><br>Over the past 2–3 months, the <strong>Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)</strong> upgraded both fast and slow lanes in both directions. Engineers used <strong>laser detection and smoothness-scanning vehicles</strong> to identify and repair structural wear. The road’s <strong>Pavement Quality Index (PQI)</strong> had fallen to 85%, below the 90% standard, prompting the full-scale maintenance.
