<p>The AI Alliance Network has taken a major step toward shaping the global future of artificial intelligence with the release of its first flagship research publication, <i>AI Horizons</i>. The report was officially unveiled during AI Journey 2025, signalling both the rapid expansion of the alliance and its ambition to redefine how AI research is conducted worldwide.</p><p>Founded in December 2024, the AI Alliance Network has grown at remarkable speed. Over the past year, it has welcomed 11 new member organisations, bringing its total membership to 28 associations and research institutes representing 21 countries. These members span Latin America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia, underlining the alliance’s commitment to fostering a truly inclusive and global AI research ecosystem.</p><p>The expansion was celebrated at AI Journey 2025, where members reviewed the alliance’s progress and showcased collaborative achievements. Central among these was <i>AI Horizons</i>, a first-of-its-kind international foresight study that brings together scientists from around the world to explore future scenarios for artificial intelligence development.</p><h3>A globally driven research effort</h3><p>The <i>AI Horizons</i> project originated at the previous edition of AI Journey and evolved into a large-scale collaborative initiative. Over the course of the year, it involved 21 strategic research sessions and 32 in-depth expert interviews. More than 270 researchers from 36 countries contributed, making it one of the most geographically diverse AI studies conducted to date.</p><p>Participating researchers came from a wide range of countries, including India, China, Brazil, Egypt, Indonesia, Italy, Nigeria, South Africa, Vietnam, Spain, and Portugal, alongside experts from Russia and several Central Asian and Eastern European nations. This wide participation ensured that the research reflected diverse technological priorities, cultural perspectives, and ethical considerations often missing from AI narratives dominated by a small number of regions.</p><p>By integrating Russian scientific expertise with a broad international research community, the project marked a new level of cross-border collaboration for AI foresight studies.</p><h3>Shared vision beyond borders</h3><p>Speaking at the launch, Alexander Vedyakhin, Chairman of the Russian Alliance’s Supervisory Board, emphasised the importance of collective thinking in shaping AI’s future. He noted that most long-term AI development scenarios are typically produced by individual institutions or countries and are often shaped by Western academic dominance.</p><p>“AI Horizons shows that science has no borders,” he said. “The future of artificial intelligence should be shaped collectively, with respect for different knowledge systems, cultures, and values.”</p><p>His remarks reflected the alliance’s broader goal: to move beyond fragmented national strategies and develop a shared understanding of where AI is headed and how it can serve societies equitably.</p><h3>Global recognition and academic support</h3><p>The initiative has drawn praise from academic leaders outside the alliance’s founding region. Abraham Ajith, Vice Chancellor of Sai University, described <i>AI Horizons</i> as an important step toward building a shared global AI future.</p><p>He highlighted the significance of launching an international foresight study that actively includes voices from regions often underrepresented in global technology discussions. According to him, the alliance has demonstrated that it can function as a practical and effective platform for scientific cooperation rather than merely a symbolic network.</p><h3>Multilingual and accessible research</h3><p>To ensure accessibility, the final <i>AI Horizons</i> report has been published in Russian, English, and Chinese, allowing researchers, policymakers, and institutions across different regions to engage with its findings. During AI Journey 2025, scientists from Russia, China, India, Serbia, and Vietnam presented key insights from the report and discussed future directions for collaborative AI research.</p><p>The study explores multiple trajectories for artificial intelligence, examining technological progress, ethical governance, economic impact, and societal transformation. By combining perspectives from both emerging and established AI ecosystems, the report aims to offer a more balanced and globally relevant roadmap for AI development.</p><h3>A growing platform for the future</h3><p>With its rapid expansion and the successful launch of <i>AI Horizons</i>, the AI Alliance Network is positioning itself as a major international platform for collaborative AI research. Rather than competing with existing centres of innovation, the alliance seeks to complement them by amplifying voices from across continents and encouraging shared responsibility for AI’s future.</p><p>As artificial intelligence continues to reshape economies and societies, the alliance’s inclusive approach suggests a shift toward more cooperative global governance—one where innovation is guided not by borders, but by shared knowledge and collective vision.</p>
