In a groundbreaking move, the UAE Government Media Office hosted the nation’s first-ever International Press Conference, marking a new era of open dialogue between the UAE Government and the global media community. The event, held as part of the UAE Government Annual Meetings 2025, brought together ministers, senior officials, and over 200 journalists and media professionals representing leading local, regional, and international outlets.
The conference served as a transparent communication platform to highlight the UAE’s latest achievements, policies, and strategic directions across key national sectors — from investment and energy to digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development.
The UAE International Press Conference represents more than a media event — it’s a reflection of the UAE’s governance philosophy rooted in transparency, collaboration, and global partnership.
Through this initiative, the UAE aims to strengthen relationships with the international media and showcase the country’s progress in areas such as economic diversification, humanitarian aid, and innovation-led growth.
Officials emphasized that the conference reflects the government’s long-term vision to build a robust national media ecosystem that keeps pace with global developments and accurately conveys the UAE’s leadership story to the world.
“This initiative embodies the UAE’s commitment to openness, dialogue, and transparency,” said an official from the UAE Government Media Office. “It highlights the country’s success in building a diversified, knowledge-based economy that’s shaping the future of global development.”
During the sessions, ministers presented a comprehensive overview of the UAE’s achievements and strategic plans, including:
Economic diversification and efforts to strengthen the UAE’s global competitiveness.
Investment in clean and renewable energy to ensure a sustainable future.
Advancements in artificial intelligence and digital innovation, shaping a knowledge-driven economy.
Humanitarian diplomacy and soft power initiatives promoting peace, cooperation, and sustainability.
The discussions highlighted the UAE’s role as a key global partner in addressing pressing international challenges — from economic transitions to digital transformation and climate resilience.
A major highlight of the conference was the launch of several strategic digital economy initiatives designed to prepare Emiratis for the future workforce, accelerate startup growth, and advance national digital transformation.
Developed by the Digital Academy Platform in partnership with Jahiz (a program managed by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources), this initiative offers advanced digital learning pathways to build essential and future-ready skills among UAE citizens and professionals.
Courses include:
Digital literacy and coding fundamentals.
AI and data analytics training.
Future foresight and innovation management.
Applied learning for government employees in tech-enabled service delivery.
The program aims to cultivate digital confidence and readiness across both public and private sectors.
Launched in collaboration with LinkedIn, this platform consolidates digital economy jobs across the UAE into one unified digital space. It addresses both employment and skill-matching challenges in the technology sector by:
Connecting skilled professionals with employers.
Offering AI-driven recommendations for suitable roles.
Enhancing the competitiveness of the UAE labor market.
This initiative supports the government’s goal of bridging the gap between talent and industry needs and fostering sustainable career growth within the country’s digital ecosystem.
In partnership with Ignite, the government introduced an incentive system offering AI-powered business tools and exclusive benefits to startups and SMEs. The program aims to support over 100,000 startups by 2029, helping them overcome barriers in funding, technology, and scalability.
Startups will also gain access to mentorship programs, digital resources, and international networking events.
A first-of-its-kind initiative, the Digital Economy Chief Technology Officer (CTO) Program connects startups with over 100 technology experts through an AI-enabled platform. The goal is to provide flexible technical expertise, personalized mentoring, and data-driven decision-making tools.
This program directly addresses key challenges faced by startups — limited access to technical knowledge, difficulty in scaling, and lack of advisory support.
All these initiatives align with the UAE National Digital Economy Strategy, which seeks to double the digital sector’s contribution to the country’s GDP and cement the UAE’s position as the most advanced digital economy in the Middle East by the end of the decade.
By integrating advanced technologies such as AI, machine learning, and big data analytics into every economic sector, the UAE aims to create a future-ready, knowledge-based society capable of thriving in the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
“These initiatives reinforce the UAE’s position as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship,” said Al Mazrouei. “They empower our youth, equip our workforce with essential digital skills, and accelerate the growth of a sustainable digital economy.”
The UAE International Press Conference not only outlined future goals but also reflected the UAE’s evolving global identity — as a nation that blends innovation with inclusion, technology with humanity, and ambition with sustainability.
By engaging directly with the international media, the UAE demonstrated its readiness to lead in an age defined by transparency, cooperation, and digital transformation.
In doing so, the Emirates reaffirmed its commitment to building a smarter, more connected, and prosperous future — both for its people and for the world.
