Sharjah recently hosted a key preparatory forum for the BRIDGE Summit 2025, the world’s largest gathering dedicated to the media, content, and entertainment industries. Held as part of the 14th International Government Communication Forum (IGCF), the event showcased the UAE’s vision of using media as a bridge between governments, creators, and communities.
By hosting the BRIDGE roadshow alongside IGCF, Sharjah reinforced its reputation as a global center for institutional dialogue and government communication. The emirate has been pioneering transparent and innovative approaches that connect governments with their people.
Dr. Jamal Mohammed Obaid Al Kaabi, Director General of the UAE National Media Office and Vice Chairman of BRIDGE, explained:
“Government communication today is no longer limited to formal statements. It extends through cinema, drama, entertainment, and dialogue that reaches audiences faster and with greater impact. BRIDGE offers a rare global stage where governments and creators collaborate to reshape the future.”
The upcoming BRIDGE Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi will go beyond a traditional media forum, positioning media, content, and entertainment as pillars of development, culture, and civilization.
A highlight of the forum was the panel “Bridges, Not Walls”, led by content creator Tareq Skaik. He emphasized that content creation is more than visibility—it is a humanitarian responsibility.
“Content should inspire, educate, and reflect the values we want the world to associate with our societies,” Skaik said.
He urged professionals from all fields—teachers, engineers, journalists—to create content that strengthens cultural identity and leaves a lasting legacy.
Another session, “Blueprints for a Media Order that Strengthens Society”, featured academic and political analyst Dr. Moataz Abdel-Fattah, moderated by media presenter Lenah Hassaballah.
Dr. Abdel-Fattah highlighted that media should do more than report events; it should promote innovation, scientific awareness, and conscious consumption. He praised the UAE’s media regulations and encouraged forums that unite influencers, creators, and policymakers to build responsible content frameworks.
AI’s role in media was also emphasized: rather than resisting AI, societies should leverage its benefits for storytelling, education, and cultural dialogue while mitigating risks.
The Abu Dhabi edition of BRIDGE Summit 2025 aims to gather thousands of stakeholders worldwide, creating an ecosystem where governments, content creators, media organizations, and entertainment leaders collaborate to shape the next era of media engagement.
By aligning the summit with government communication priorities, the UAE emphasizes that media should entertain, inform, educate, and strengthen societies.
The Sharjah preparatory forum set the stage for a landmark global event. By positioning media, content, and entertainment as tools for development, cultural identity, and humanitarian values, the UAE is leading a worldwide conversation on the future of communication.
BRIDGE Summit 2025 is more than a summit—it is a call for governments, creators, and communities to work together to build bridges, not walls, in the media landscape.
