UAE Impact Summit 2025 Launches ‘Companies for Good 2031’ Vision

UAE Launches Impact Summit 2025 and Unveils ‘Companies for Good 2031’ Strategy

The UAE has taken a major step toward shaping a structured, measurable impact economy with the launch of Impact Summit 2025 in Abu Dhabi. The inaugural summit brought together senior government officials, private-sector leaders, civil-society organisations, academics, and youth groups to lay the foundation for a unified national framework governing corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable impact.

The event was held in the presence of Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri, Minister of Economy and Tourism, who also serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Majra – National CSR Fund. More than 300 representatives from the private sector and around 20 government entities attended the summit, highlighting the growing importance of CSR and impact-driven development across the country.

A National Framework for the Impact Economy

Impact Summit 2025 forms part of Majra’s mandate as the federal body responsible for regulating and coordinating CSR and sustainable-impact practices in the UAE. Discussions throughout the day focused on creating a standardised national approach to CSR, strengthening impact-measurement tools, and aligning private-sector contributions with national priorities.

Key themes included economic empowerment, environmental sustainability, community development, and governance transparency. Organisers emphasised that while many companies already contribute to social causes, the lack of unified measurement and reporting standards has limited the visibility and effectiveness of these efforts at a national level.

Launch of ‘UAE Companies for Good 2031’

A major highlight of the summit was the announcement of the ‘UAE Companies for Good 2031’ strategy, unveiled during the opening session by Abdulla bin Touq. The strategy is designed as a long-term national framework to guide private-sector participation in CSR, sustainability, and impact-driven initiatives over the coming years.

At the core of the strategy is what officials described as a “Strategic Compass Approach.” This model provides companies with clear guidance on governance structures, impact measurement, and reporting mechanisms. Businesses will be encouraged to document their CSR activities through Majra’s Impact Digital Platform, submitting an official Impact Declaration aligned with federal criteria.

Majra also revealed that it is studying the phased integration of Impact Declarations into commercial licence renewal processes for private-sector entities. If implemented, this would represent a significant shift, embedding CSR and impact accountability directly into business operations while aligning with national disclosure and reporting standards.

Strengthening Coordination Across the UAE

The strategy is not being developed in isolation. Majra confirmed ongoing coordination with key local partners, including Abu Dhabi’s Ma’an Authority for Social Contribution and Dubai’s Jood Foundation. This collaborative approach is intended to reduce duplication, improve efficiency, and ensure that CSR efforts across emirates contribute meaningfully to shared national goals.

Expert-Led Sessions and Key Themes

The summit featured four major expert-led sessions that explored the evolving role of CSR in the UAE:

National CSR Framework: Discussions focused on governance, transparency, and consistent impact measurement, with participation from Majra, AVPN, Emirates Nature–WWF, and ADNOC.

Building an Impact Economy: Speakers examined partnership models, ESG integration, technology-driven solutions, youth engagement, and alignment with national-priority projects.

Measuring Impact: Experts highlighted the shift from intention-based CSR toward verifiable, outcome-driven initiatives supported by robust data.

Future of CSR and Shared Value: Panels explored responsible investment, entrepreneurship, and the growing influence of youth in shaping sustainable business practices.

Inclusion, Youth, and Interactive Platforms

Inclusivity was a central theme of Impact Summit 2025. Programmes supporting People of Determination were integrated throughout the event, including a café operated in partnership with the Emirates Down Syndrome Association, sign-language interpretation services, agricultural activities, and sensory-engagement spaces.

A youth-led steering committee, comprised of Emirati women under 35, played an active role in planning and shaping the summit, reflecting the UAE’s focus on empowering younger generations in national development initiatives.

Several interactive platforms showcased Majra’s ongoing work, including the Majra Impact Hall, Majra X, and Impact in Action Stage, alongside the Impact Map, Impact Stream Podcast, and previews of the Sustainable Impact Challenge 2026.

A Step Toward Long-Term National Impact

Organisers said the Impact Summit 2025 marks the beginning of a sustained national effort to embed purpose, accountability, and measurable outcomes into private-sector contributions. By launching the ‘Companies for Good 2031’ strategy, the UAE is signalling a clear shift toward structured, transparent, and collaborative CSR — positioning impact not as an optional activity, but as a core component of doing business in the country.
