Sharjah, UAE – September 7, 2025: Authorities have issued a Lookout Notice (LOC) against the husband of Vipanchika, a Kerala woman who, along with her young daughter, was found dead in Sharjah in July. The move is part of the Kerala Police Crime Branch’s investigation into a suspected dowry-abuse case.
On July 8, Vipanchika and her daughter Vaibhavi were discovered dead in their Al Nahda apartment. A forensic report indicated the child had been suffocated, while Vipanchika died by hanging. The incident came to light after the family maid noticed the flat locked from inside and raised an alarm. The husband, living separately, was reportedly informed before the bodies were found. The child was buried in Dubai, while Vipanchika’s remains were repatriated to Kerala for a second postmortem.
Following a complaint by Vipanchika’s mother, Kerala Police filed a case against the husband and his family, citing domestic abuse, dowry harassment, and physical cruelty, even during pregnancy. A six-page handwritten note, allegedly by Vipanchika and shared on social media, described years of harassment, implicating her husband, father-in-law, and sister-in-law.
Malayalam media reports indicate the Crime Branch has:
Recorded statements from Vipanchika’s maid.
Issued a Lookout Notice to prevent the husband from leaving India.
Begun forensic analysis of Vipanchika’s laptop and digital records, potentially retrieving her deleted Facebook note.
The LOC ensures the accused cannot enter or exit India without informing authorities, keeping him under legal scrutiny.
Athulya Sekhar (July 2025): A Kerala woman found dead in Sharjah; her husband was stopped at Thiruvananthapuram airport under an LOC.
Raj Kundra & Shilpa Shetty case: LOC issued in connection with a ₹600 million fraud investigation.
The Kerala Police Crime Branch continues to pursue digital evidence and witness statements, with the LOC ensuring the husband remains accountable while the probe progresses.
