<p><strong>India Files Case Against Husband of Indian Woman Found Dead in Sharjah</strong></p><p><strong>Sharjah/India:</strong> Indian authorities have filed a case against the husband of <strong>Athulya Shekhar</strong>, a 30-year-old Indian woman who was found dead in her Sharjah apartment near Rolla Park on <strong>July 19</strong>. The charges include <strong>physical abuse, dowry harassment, and abetment of suicide</strong>, based on a complaint lodged by her parents.</p><p>According to social worker <strong>Abdullah Kamampalam</strong>, the husband faces multiple charges under Indian law, including <strong>grievous assault, wrongful confinement</strong>, and violations of the <strong>Dowry Prohibition Act</strong>. A <strong>lookout notice</strong> has been issued, ensuring that Indian authorities will detain him upon arrival in the country.</p><p>“The <strong>Sharjah Police</strong> are expected to release the forensic report soon,” Kamampalam added, noting that he is assisting the family with <strong>legal proceedings and repatriation of Athulya’s body</strong>.</p><p>Athulya had recently celebrated her birthday with her sister and was about to <strong>start her first job in a Sharjah mall</strong>. She had lived in the UAE for two years. Her <strong>10-year-old daughter resides in India</strong> with her grandparents.</p><p>The <strong>Indian Consulate in Dubai</strong> expressed condolences and confirmed that they are coordinating with both the grieving family and UAE authorities to provide full support.</p><p>This case follows another recent tragic incident involving an <strong>Indian mother and daughter in Sharjah</strong>, raising concerns about <strong>domestic abuse within expatriate communities</strong>.</p>
