UAE Residents Can Still Travel for Umrah: Flights, Bus Routes and Package Prices

UAE residents can continue travelling to Saudi Arabia for Umrah by air and road, despite reported disruptions at some Saudi airports following recent Houthi attacks. Travel operators say scheduled group trips are continuing, with Jeddah and Madinah serving as the main gateways for pilgrims.

Although fresh enquiries and bookings have slowed in recent days, residents are still booking flight and bus packages through travel agencies across the UAE.

Flights to Saudi Arabia for Umrah

According to UAE travel operators, Saudia and flydubai are among the main airlines being used for Umrah packages. Pilgrims can fly to Jeddah and continue to Makkah, or arrive in Madinah before travelling to Makkah.

Flight packages currently start at approximately Dh2,700, with most trips planned for four to five days.

Packages generally include:

Umrah visa

Return flights

Hotel accommodation

Meals

Ziyarat

Local transportation

Travel operators can also arrange onward journeys between Madinah and Makkah by bus or train, depending on the selected package.

Umrah Bus Packages from the UAE

For residents looking for a more affordable option, bus packages to Saudi Arabia are also available.

According to Rehan Al Jazeera Tours and Travels, a scheduled group journey is planned to depart from Sharjah, collect passengers from Abu Dhabi and travel to Saudi Arabia through the Al Ghuwaifat–Al Batha border crossing.

The itinerary includes Makkah and Madinah before the return journey to the UAE.

The road journey takes approximately 36 hours each way. A typical package lasts around 10 days, including the outward and return journeys, approximately four days in Madinah and three days in Makkah.

How Much Do Umrah Bus Packages Cost?

Bus packages currently start at around Dh1,100, depending on the hotel accommodation selected.

The reported package inclusions are:

Visa arrangements

Meals

Hotel accommodation

Ziyarat

Local transport

Border charges

Nusuk arrangements

Travel operators say prices can change according to accommodation, demand and travel dates.

Umrah Package Prices Compared

The starting prices reported by UAE travel operators are:

Flight packages: approximately Dh2,700

Bus packages: approximately Dh1,100

Flight packages offer a shorter trip of around four to five days, while road packages generally require about 10 days. Bus travel may suit residents looking for a lower-cost option, whereas flights are more suitable for travellers with limited time.

Operators also reported that bus package prices were lower than the usual October rates in the previous year, when packages typically cost around Dh1,300 to Dh1,400. During the winter travel rush, prices can rise to approximately Dh1,700–Dh2,000, depending on demand and accommodation.

Are Umrah Trips Continuing Despite Airport Disruptions?

Travel operators quoted in the October 23, 2026 report said their scheduled groups were continuing as planned. However, flight operations and travel arrangements can change depending on airline schedules and the security situation.

Residents should confirm their flight status, package details, Saudi visa requirements and border arrangements with their airline or travel operator before departure.

What Should UAE Residents Know Before Booking?

Residents planning Umrah should compare flight and bus packages, check which services are included in the quoted price and confirm their travel dates before making payment.

The reported starting prices are indicative and may vary between operators. Travellers should also check official Saudi and UAE travel advisories for the latest information.

With both air and road options being offered by travel operators, UAE residents can compare costs and journey times to choose a package that suits their budget and schedule.
