UAE Leaders Exchange Eid Al Adha Greetings After Special Prayers Across Emirates

The UAE marked Eid Al Adha 2026 with large prayer gatherings, heartfelt greetings, and celebrations led by the nation’s rulers across different emirates. Thousands of worshippers gathered at mosques and open prayer grounds early Wednesday morning as the country began one of the most significant Islamic festivals of the year.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan joined worshippers for Eid prayers and later exchanged greetings with citizens, residents, and officials. Leaders across the UAE also delivered messages of peace, prosperity, and unity while extending congratulations to people in the UAE and the wider Arab and Islamic world.

In Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum performed Eid prayers alongside senior officials and worshippers at a major mosque in the emirate. Similar scenes were witnessed in Sharjah, Abu Dhabi, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah, and Umm Al Quwain as rulers and Crown Princes joined the faithful for special congregational prayers.

Mosques across the country saw huge crowds from the early hours of the morning. Authorities had earlier completed preparations for Eid prayers, including traffic management, parking arrangements, and crowd-control measures to ensure smooth movement for worshippers.

The atmosphere across the UAE reflected the spirit of Eid Al Adha, with families gathering after prayers to exchange greetings, share meals, and participate in traditional celebrations. Residents also visited relatives and friends while children enjoyed festive activities and Eidiya traditions.

During the occasion, UAE leaders prayed for continued stability, growth, and prosperity for the nation. Messages shared by the rulers highlighted values of compassion, generosity, coexistence, and unity — principles closely associated with Eid Al Adha celebrations.

The UAE President, Vice Presidents, and rulers also sent congratulatory messages to kings, presidents, emirs, and leaders of Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of Eid Al Adha. The messages included prayers for peace, development, and wellbeing for people across the region.

Religious authorities across the country encouraged worshippers to maintain the values of kindness and charity during the holiday period. Community organisations and charitable groups also launched food distribution and donation initiatives aimed at supporting underprivileged families during Eid.

Meanwhile, iconic religious landmarks such as the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque welcomed thousands of visitors and worshippers as part of special Eid programmes, cultural tours, and family activities organised during the holiday period.

Eid Al Adha this year coincides with an extended holiday period in the UAE, allowing residents additional time to celebrate with families and travel across the country. Shopping destinations, entertainment venues, and tourism attractions are also witnessing increased activity during the festive break.

As worshippers gathered in unity across the Emirates, the participation of UAE leaders in Eid prayers once again reflected the country’s strong connection to Islamic traditions, national unity, and community values during one of the holiest occasions in the Islamic calendar.
