Dubai: Charlie Kirk, the 31-year-old conservative activist and co-founder of Turning Point USA (TPUSA), has died after being shot during an event at Utah Valley University in Orem, Utah. The news was confirmed by former US President Donald Trump, who shared the announcement on his social media platform, Truth Social, late Wednesday night. Trump wrote: “The Great, and even Legendary, Charlie Kirk, is dead. No one understood or had the Heart of the Youth in the United States of America better than Charlie.”

The shooting took place while Kirk was speaking at a TPUSA campus event. Utah Valley University later confirmed on X (formerly Twitter) that a suspect had been taken into custody.
