upgraded 876 VAC assets across 14 stations and two car parks on the Red Line—without any disruption to train operations. The scope included deep refurbishment of key equipment such as air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), smoke extract fans, and pressurisation systems. These upgrades ensure a consistent station temperature of 24–25°C, particularly critical during Dubai’s intense summer conditions. The 10-month project was executed during off-peak hours and overnight, ensuring zero impact on passenger services. This follows the successful completion of Phase 1, which covered 261 assets across 13 stations. RTA has already begun Phase 3 preparations, which will target remaining public-area and back-of-house cooling units, alongside efforts to implement energy-efficient, variable flow technology. This initiative reflects RTA's collaboration with Keolis-MHI, the operator of Dubai Metro and Tram, and reinforces their joint vision of delivering seamless and sustainable mobility aligned with global service standards.
