His extradition was approved by the UAE Federal Supreme Court. Series of High-Profile Arrests Dubai Police have been actively supporting global crime-fighting efforts through a number of successful extraditions in recent months: On July 13, three Belgian nationals involved in cross-border organized crimes were extradited. In June 2025, Vitaliy Pirlog, a Moldovan and former Interpol Commission member, was arrested on charges of corruption, fraud, and bribery filed by French authorities. In May 2025, the UAE extradited Sean McGovern, a key figure in an Irish transnational gang, to Dublin. He was charged with murder and directing organized crime. Arrested in October 2024, McGovern was described as the “right-hand man” of notorious cartel leader Daniel Kinahan. His case marked the first-ever extradition from the UAE to Ireland. Additionally, in January 2025, the UAE detained Abdul Rahman Al Qaradawi at the request of Lebanese authorities, where he faces accusations of destabilizing public order.
