UAE: 10-Year-Old Writes Book Through Pet Dog's Eyes, Donates Earnings to Animal Shelters

A 10-year-old student in Dubai has turned her love for storytelling and animals into a meaningful initiative. Aryahi Tiwari, a Year 6 student at Nord Anglia International School Dubai, has published her debut book, Paw-sitively Royal, and donated its earnings to support animal welfare.

What began as a summer writing project has developed into an inspiring effort to encourage children to follow their ideas while helping animals in need.

A Book Inspired by Her Pet Dog

Aryahi's book tells the story of the world through the eyes of Royal, her pet teacup poodle. Inspired by her own dog's behaviour and personality, the story explores friendship, loyalty, overcoming fears and the importance of belonging.

The young author wanted to understand how dogs experience the world and communicate their feelings without words. These observations became the foundation of her story.

The book also follows Royal's experiences with his brother, Rockstar, and his best friend, Rocket, introducing young readers to themes of companionship and unconditional love.

Dh5,000 Donated to Animal Welfare

According to Aryahi, the book has generated Dh5,000 in earnings so far, and the entire amount has been donated towards animal welfare initiatives.

The contributions support a pet shelter in Dubai and a cow shelter in India. In Dubai, the support is provided through a K9 membership that contributes to the shelter's ongoing care programmes.

The book, priced at Dh35, reflects Aryahi's belief that stories can do more than entertain readers. They can also encourage people to take positive action.

Learning Through Animals

Aryahi is also a certified dog trainer. Her experience working with puppies has helped her understand canine body language, reactions and behaviour, giving her a deeper perspective on the character at the centre of her book.

Alongside writing, she enjoys mathematics, coding, gymnastics, ballet, piano, acting and team sports. She also serves as her school's 2026 student ambassador for The Alliance for Sustainable Schools.

Encouraging Other Children to Follow Their Ideas

The young author has also been invited to schools to talk about writing and share her experience with other students. She hopes her journey will encourage children to explore their creativity and begin their own writing projects.

Aryahi believes that children should not wait for an idea to become perfect before trying it. Her experience demonstrates how a personal interest can grow into a published book and a project that supports a meaningful cause.

A Story with a Purpose

Through Paw-sitively Royal, Aryahi has combined creativity, her love for animals and a desire to help those without a loving home.

Her achievement highlights how young people can use their interests and talents to make a positive contribution to their communities, regardless of their age.
