EDGE to Unveil 42 New Defence Systems at Dubai Airshow 2025
The UAEās leading defence and advanced technology group, EDGE, is set to make one of its largest product announcements in its history at Dubai Airshow 2025. The company will unveil 42 new defence and advanced-tech systems in a single day, expanding its influence across global markets and reinforcing the UAEās ambition to become a major player in the international defence industry.
This massive expansion comes six years after EDGE made its debut at the 2019 Airshow with just 30 products. Today, its portfolio has grown to over 250 systemsāshowcasing the groupās rapid evolution, deep R&D investments, and strategic collaborations.
A Significant Milestone for UAEās Defence Sector
Hamad Al Marar, Managing Director and CEO of EDGE Group, highlighted the significance of this yearās launches. He noted that the new systems reflect how quickly EDGE has transformed from a concept into a highly competitive global defence powerhouse.
āFrom a bold idea to a global force, weāve now launched 42 products in a single day,ā Al Marar said. āWe are not only meeting the needs of the local market but competing globallyāwith more than 53% of our revenue now coming from exports.ā
The large number of new systems underscores the UAEās broader goal to strengthen its self-reliance in defence manufacturing while also expanding its footprint in international defence markets.
Breakthrough Autonomous Systems
One of the major highlights of the launch is Omen, a hover-to-cruise autonomous aerial vehicle developed under the newly formed EDGEāAnduril Production Alliance. This partnership gives EDGE access to Andurilās Lattice AI platform, enhancing the performance and coordination of future joint programmes.
Other new autonomous systems include:

A compact, medium-altitude, long-endurance UAV designed for continuous surveillance and precision strike missions.
ā¢ VORTEX-E
A counter-drone interception system built to neutralise hostile UAVs in real time.
ā¢ STRIKE
A fixed-wing carrier platform designed to extend tactical reach across medium-altitude operations.
These additions strengthen the UAEās leadership in autonomous systems and highlight EDGEās focus on expanding its unmanned capabilities.
Next-Generation Smart Weapons
EDGE also introduced a new line of smart weapons designed for cost-effective precision and quick deployment. These include:

A long-range cruise weapon equipped with AI-assisted terminal retargeting.
ā¢ DARKWING
A modular autonomous strike system featuring interchangeable payloads for different mission profiles.
ā¢ THUNDER-ER
A conversion kit that upgrades older aerial munitions into smart stand-off weapons.
These systems aim to support both national defence needs and growing global demand for intelligent, flexible weaponry.
Advanced Propulsion Systems
EDGE has significantly expanded its propulsion portfolio by unveiling new piston, turbine, and microjet engines, as well as solid, liquid, and hybrid rocket motors. These propulsion technologies support UAVs, loitering munitions, missiles, and even future space-launch vehicles.
Developing these systems locally strengthens the UAEās sovereign supply chain, reducing reliance on foreign imports and ensuring long-term resilience.
Innovations in Space Technology
In the space domain, EDGE introduced ZENITH, a new sovereign platform for space operations and data orchestration. ZENITH integrates imagery and sensor feeds from:

An airborne reconnaissance pod offering advanced signal detection and electronic-support functions.

Secure Communications: KATIM GATEWAY X9000M
Completing the new line-up is the KATIM GATEWAY X9000M, a compact high-assurance encryption device designed to deliver secure mobile communications across challenging operational environments. This addition reinforces EDGEās growing focus on cyber and secure communication technologies.
