UAE Leaders Mark 54th Eid Al Etihad at Zayed National Museum
The United Arab Emirates marked a proud national milestone as its leadership came together in Abu Dhabi for the official ceremony celebrating the countryās 54th Eid Al Etihad. Held at the iconic Zayed National Museum, the event reflected the theme āUnited,ā highlighting the enduring strength of national unity that has defined the UAE since its founding.
The ceremony was attended by UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, alongside members of the Supreme Council, Rulers of the Emirates, Crown Princes, Deputy Rulers, and senior sheikhs. Their presence underscored the shared commitment of the nationās leadership to the values of unity, cooperation, and progress that form the foundation of the Union.
Among the distinguished attendees was Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, as well as the Rulers of Fujairah, Umm Al Qaiwain, and Ras Al Khaimah. Also present was Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, and Chairman of the Presidential Court. Their participation highlighted the collective leadership that continues to guide the UAEās development.
Crown Princes and Deputy Rulers from across the Emirates joined the celebrations, reflecting the seamless integration between generations of leadership. Their presence symbolised continuity, ensuring that the nationās founding ideals are carried forward while embracing innovation, progress, and future ambitions.
At the heart of the ceremony was a tribute to the UAEās Founding Father, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His vision of unity, tolerance, and nation-building was honoured throughout the event, reminding attendees of the principles that shaped the UAEās identity and enabled its rapid transformation into a global example of stability and progress.
The programme offered a journey through the UAEās rich history, showcasing rare and meaningful artefacts from the Zayed National Museumās collection. These included the Abu Dhabi Pearl, estimated to be around 8,000 years old and considered one of the worldās oldest known natural pearls. The display also featured Bronze Swords discovered at the Saruq Al Hadid archaeological site, Carnelian Beads dating back roughly 5,000 years, the Abiel Coināone of the regionās earliest currenciesāand the Kamal, a traditional maritime navigation tool used by sailors to measure the position of stars.
Adding a tangible connection to more recent history, the exhibition included a 1966 Chrysler Newport once used by Sheikh Zayed during the early years of the UAEās formation. The Magan Boat, a reconstruction of an ancient trading vessel, was also presented, highlighting the nationās long-standing maritime heritage and its role in early regional trade.
Through innovative use of light, music, and performance, creative and technical teams brought the UAEās story to life. Traditional Emirati-inspired costumes, orchestral compositions, and folk performances blended seamlessly with modern visual effects, creating an immersive experience that resonated with audiences of all ages. Artists from diverse backgrounds took part, reflecting the multicultural fabric of Emirati society and honouring the generations that have contributed to the nationās success.
A special highlight was the debut performance of the UAE National Orchestra, which delivered a powerful musical tribute capturing the spirit of the nation and the values that unite its people.
The ceremony was livestreamed across official Eid Al Etihad digital platforms, allowing citizens and residents across the countryāand beyondāto join in the celebration. In doing so, the event reinforced a shared sense of belonging among all who call the UAE home, celebrating not only 54 years of achievements but also a collective vision for the future rooted in unity, heritage, and ambition.
