France Unrest: UAE Residents Postpone Paris Trips Amid Protests and Curfews
Some UAE residents are postponing or rescheduling their trips to France, particularly Paris, amid ongoing protests over rising living costs and fuel prices.
According to travel industry representatives, travellers are becoming more cautious and increasingly choosing flexible booking options, cancellation protection and travel assistance as uncertainty continues across parts of France.
More Travellers Choose Flexible Bookings
Paras Rishi, head of marketing at Flyin.com and Cleartrip.ae, said around 30 per cent of customers scheduled to travel to France in the following week had opted to reschedule or postpone their trips.
The decisions were reportedly influenced by concerns about possible flight disruptions, transport strikes and uncertainty surrounding the situation. The platforms also observed a threefold increase in customers selecting delay protection and flexible cancellation options for France bookings.
Travel Agents Advise Caution
Adil Tanrıverdi, CEO of Tripventura, said many travellers were seeking guidance on navigating Paris safely rather than cancelling their trips entirely. This included avoiding areas affected by demonstrations and adjusting evening transport arrangements in line with local restrictions.
Travel agents reported that Emirates and Etihad Airways flights were continuing to operate as scheduled. Emirates also confirmed that its flights to France had not been affected by the unrest, according to the report.
Partial Curfews and Safety Advisory
France announced partial curfews in Paris and other cities amid continuing unrest. Travellers were advised to follow official travel advisories, check flight status before departure, remain in contact with their travel agents and keep local transport arrangements flexible.
The situation remains subject to change, and travellers planning to visit France should check the latest official guidance before travelling.
