Saudi-Led Coalition Reports Houthi Attacks as Missiles Hit Yemen Palace

Tensions across the Middle East have intensified following reports of attacks on Saudi infrastructure and a missile strike on a presidential palace complex in Yemen.

According to the Saudi-led coalition, Yemen’s Houthi movement attempted multiple attacks on airports, ports and oil facilities in Saudi Arabia. Coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki said that 20 attacks had targeted Riyadh’s King Khalid International Airport during October.

Separately, missiles struck the Al-Maashiq presidential palace complex in Aden, southern Yemen, which serves as the headquarters of the internationally recognised Yemeni government. Reports published on October 15 indicated that the attack caused casualties among security personnel and others.

The Saudi-led coalition said it had continued responding to threats, including intercepting and destroying drones. The developments have also affected regional travel, with flight disruptions reported and IndiGo announcing cancellations on routes connecting India with Riyadh, Jeddah, Dammam and Madinah until October 24, 2026.

The ongoing escalation has raised concerns about civilian safety, airport operations and regional stability. Travellers are advised to check official airline updates and government advisories before departure.
