UAE Promotes Dialogue Between Israelis and Palestinians to Build Mutual Understanding
The United Arab Emirates is continuing to encourage dialogue and mutual understanding between Israelis and Palestinians, with Dr Al Nuaimi highlighting the importance of building connections between communities that have historically viewed one another through the lens of conflict.
According to Dr Al Nuaimi, many Israelis who arrived in the UAE had preconceived ideas about Arabs. However, their experiences in the country exposed them to a different reality through interactions with Emiratis and residents from across the Arab world, including Palestinians.
The UAE and Israel established diplomatic relations under the Abraham Accords in 2020. The agreement opened the door to direct flights, increased tourism and closer commercial ties between the two countries.
Dr Al Nuaimi also revealed that he had met two delegations the previous day, one Israeli and one Palestinian, as part of his efforts to encourage dialogue.
He said both sides recognised the importance of finding a future in which Israelis and Palestinians could live together rather than remain trapped in continuing conflict.
He stressed that differences should not prevent people from finding common ground and working towards peace. He also emphasised the importance of ensuring that younger generations can look forward to a future without continuing conflict.
