UAE Clinches Two Golden Awards for Medical Excellence at AFC Medical Awards
The UAE has been recognised for its outstanding contributions to football medicine, winning two Golden Awards for Medical Excellence at the 4th Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Medical Awards in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Dr. Mourad Ghrairi, Director of the FIFA Medical Centre in Dubai, and the late Dr. Abdullah Hassan Baroon, former UAE national team doctor, were honoured for their more than 25 years of dedicated service to sports medicine. Their work has been instrumental in advancing player care, rehabilitation, and performance standards across the region.
The awards were presented alongside the 8th AFC Medical Conference, which brings together leading professionals in sports medicine to exchange expertise and research. In addition to the UAEās recognition, the AFC honoured 13 other professionals with Distinguished Service Awards across Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories.
These accolades underscore the UAEās growing leadership and expertise in football medicine, reflecting the countryās commitment to supporting athletes and contributing to the development of medical standards in Asian football.
