UAE Investigation Finds Flydubai Co-Pilot Tried to Carry Out Terrorist Act
The UAE investigation into an incident involving flydubai flight FZ1073 has found that the co-pilot attempted to carry out a terrorist act while the aircraft was in flight.
According to UAE Attorney General Counsellor Dr Hamad Saif Al Shamsi, the co-pilot attacked the pilot inside the cockpit and attempted to take control of the aircraft.
The incident occurred on September 30 while the flight was travelling from Dubai International Airport to Tel Aviv. The aircraft was later diverted and landed safely at Tabuk Airport in Saudi Arabia after crew members intervened.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the full circumstances of the incident, including the motive and any possible connections. Technical examinations and analysis of physical and digital evidence are also underway.
Officials said that the final findings will be announced after the necessary investigative procedures are completed.
