Dubai Welcomes 1.04 Million British Tourists in Jan–Sept 2025

Dubai’s tourism sector continues to surge in 2025, and new data reveals just how powerful the UK market remains for the emirate. Between January and September this year, Dubai welcomed 1.04 million British tourists, marking a 13% jump compared to the same period in 2024. The figures, released by the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), reaffirm the United Kingdom’s position as Dubai’s largest single source market within Western Europe.

The number translates to an average of 115,500 British visitors per month, or about 3,800 arrivals per day. This consistent flow of travelers shows the strong connection between Dubai and UK tourists despite global inflation, travel cost pressures, and broader economic challenges.

UK Tourists Make Up a Major Chunk of Dubai Arrivals

According to the official data, British travelers accounted for:

36% of all Western European visitors, and

7.5% of Dubai’s total international tourist arrivals

Dubai received 13.95 million visitors in the first nine months of 2025, and UK arrivals made up one out of every 13 tourists entering the emirate. This underscores the long-standing appeal Dubai holds for British residents — from year-round sunshine and beaches to luxury hospitality, shopping, food, and major global events.

The UK has historically been a reliable tourism source for the UAE, and 2025 is proving to be one of the strongest years yet.

120,000 More UK Visitors Than Last Year

The 1.04 million figure marks an additional 120,000 British tourists compared to the same period in 2024. This sizable increase highlights:

High demand from UK leisure travelers

Consistent return of repeat British visitors

Growing interest from families and young professionals

Strong winter and shoulder-season travel bookings

Despite rising global travel costs, the UK-Dubai travel corridor is showing exceptional resilience and momentum.

Western Europe Remains Dubai’s Top Tourism Source

Overall, Western Europe sent 2.86 million visitors to Dubai in the first three quarters of 2025 — an increase from 2.5 million last year. The region remains the largest contributor to Dubai’s tourism numbers, supported by strong connectivity, ease of travel, and year-round demand.

Within Western Europe, the UK continues to lead by a significant margin.

Robust Flight Connectivity Driving Growth

One of the biggest boosters for travel between the UK and Dubai is Emirates Airline’s extensive flight schedule. The carrier currently operates over 133 flights per week to the UK, including:

6 daily A380 flights to London Heathrow

3 daily flights to London Gatwick

2 daily flights to London Stansted

3 daily flights to Manchester

2 daily flights to Birmingham (one of which is an A380 service)

Daily flights to Newcastle and Glasgow

A350 daily service to Edinburgh

In October 2025, Emirates announced an expansion — six additional weekly flights to Heathrow beginning October 26. This move comes in response to record-breaking demand and aims to offer even more flexibility heading into the busy winter travel period.

Strong air connectivity, wide seat capacity, and frequent services have made Dubai easily accessible to UK travelers, boosting both tourism and business travel.

Dubai Set for Another Record-Breaking Tourism Year

Given the strong performance in the first nine months, DET believes Dubai is well-positioned to achieve another record year for international visitor numbers in 2025. Major drivers of this growth include:

A full calendar of global events and festivals

New entertainment attractions

Expanding hotel inventory

Strong support from airlines

Year-round marketing campaigns in the UK and Europe

Dubai’s appeal to UK travelers is expected to remain strong through the winter and into early 2026, supported by favourable weather, visa ease, and a world-class hospitality ecosystem.

A Growing Bond Between Dubai and the UK

Dubai’s ability to attract more than a million visitors from the UK in just nine months highlights the deep tourism ties between the two regions. Whether for short getaways, family vacations, business trips, or winter sun escapes, British travelers continue to see Dubai as one of the world’s top destinations.

With enhanced flight routes, continually improving tourism offerings, and rising global recognition, the emirate is on track to welcome even more British tourists in the months ahead.
