Kuwait: Pilot, Doctor Held for Ammo and Illegal Alcohol
Kuwait Arrests Airline Doctor and Pilot in Arms and Alcohol Bust
Kuwaitâs Ministry of Interior has arrested two airline employees â a doctor and a pilot â in a major operation targeting illegal arms and alcohol possession.
The case began at Kuwait International Airport, where customs officers discovered 64 rounds of ammunition in the luggage of a doctor employed by a local airline. During questioning, the doctor admitted ownership and stated the ammunition had been given to him by a colleague â a pilot.
Authorities then detained the pilot, who confirmed the claim. A search of his home and vehicle uncovered 500 more rounds of unlicensed ammunition. Further inspections at another property he owned in Al Shaab Al Bahri revealed 87 bottles of alcohol and equipment used for producing homemade liquor.
The pilot confessed to manufacturing alcohol with supplies purchased online. Both men have been formally charged and referred to judicial authorities for prosecution.
