Trump claims credit for āsolving warsā, vows to mediate Pakistan-Afghanistan conflict
Washington: US President Donald Trump has once again made headlines with bold statements about his role in resolving international conflicts. Speaking to reporters before boarding Air Force One en route to Egypt for a summit on the Gaza peace process, Trump said he intends to mediate the ongoing border dispute between Pakistan and Afghanistan, claiming that he has successfully āsolved seven warsā during his tenure.
āThis will be my eighth war that I have solved,ā Trump declared confidently. āAnd I hear there is a war now going on between Pakistan and Afghanistan. I said, Iāll have to wait till I get back. I am doing another one. Because I am good at solving wars.ā
The comments came as Trump prepared to attend a major summit in Cairo, where global leaders will gather to mark what he described as the āofficial endā of the two-year-long IsraelāHamas conflict. Trump, who has often described himself as a master negotiator, framed the Gaza ceasefire as one of his administrationās signature achievements.

During his remarks, Trump drew comparisons to previous international conflicts that he claimed were settled under his leadership. āThink about India and Pakistan. Think about some of the wars that were going on for years,ā he said. āWe had one going for 31, one for 32, one for 37 years, with millions of people being killed in every country, and I got every one of those done ā for the most part ā within a day. Itās pretty good.ā
While Trump did not specify which conflicts he was referring to, his administration has previously claimed to have facilitated diplomatic progress in several regions ā including the Balkans, the Caucasus, and parts of the Middle East.
According to Trump, these efforts reflected his unique ability to strike peace deals that others could not. āConflicts that lasted for decades were solved relatively quickly during my time,ā he said. āI did it not for credit, but to save lives.ā
Mentions Nobel Peace Prize Winner
When asked about the Nobel Peace Prize, which was recently awarded to Venezuelan opposition leader MarĆa Corina Machado, Trump said he was not motivated by recognition or awards.
āI did not do this for the Nobel. I did this for saving lives,ā Trump said. āThe person who got the Nobel Prize called me today and said, āI am accepting this in honour of you, because you really deserved itā. Iāve been helping her along the way.ā
Though his claim could not be independently verified, Trump insisted that several of his international interventions ā including mediation in Kosovo and Serbia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Israel and Iran ā were instrumental in easing tensions.
Heading to Cairo for Gaza Peace Summit
The US presidentās latest statements came as he departed for Egypt, where he is expected to meet Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, and other world leaders. The summit aims to consolidate the US-brokered Gaza ceasefire, secure humanitarian aid routes, and discuss long-term political solutions for stability in the region.
According to White House officials, Trump is expected to deliver a keynote address reaffirming Americaās commitment to peace and security across the Middle East.

Trumpās self-proclaimed record as a āwar-solverā has drawn mixed reactions internationally. Supporters hail his direct and unconventional approach to diplomacy, crediting him for bringing once-hostile parties to the negotiation table.
