UAE Confident Ahead of Asia Cup 2025
UAE Gears Up to Challenge Top Teams in Asia Cup 2025
Dubai: UAE cricket captain Muhammad Waseem is confident his team can pull off surprises at the Asia Cup 2025, which begins on September 9 in Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
“The squad is well-prepared, and we have the right combination to face strong opponents like India and Pakistan,” said Waseem, recently appointed skipper. “Our recent performances have boosted our confidence, and the players are eager to showcase their best.”
Group and Fixtures
UAE, placed in Group A alongside India, Pakistan, and Oman, will start their campaign against India on September 10 at Dubai International Stadium. They will then face Oman on September 15 in Abu Dhabi, before taking on Pakistan on September 17 in Dubai.
Team Strategy and Outlook
Waseem highlighted the squad’s blend of youth and experience: “We’ll rely on our senior players to guide the juniors, but everyone is ready to contribute. The atmosphere in camp is positive, and we’re determined to give our best.”
Despite being in a challenging group, the skipper remains relaxed: “We’ve beaten stronger teams before, and we know it’s possible again. Playing at home gives us an edge—our players are familiar with the humidity and dew conditions, which could work in our favor.”
With strong local support and home advantage, UAE aims to make a significant impact in the tournament.
