Trump Says No Deadline for Ending US-Iran War Amid Fragile Ceasefire

The ongoing conflict between the United States and Iran remains highly uncertain, with US President Donald Trump confirming that there is “no time frame” set for ending the war. The statement comes as a fragile ceasefire continues, temporarily halting large-scale military action while diplomatic efforts struggle to gain momentum.

The ceasefire has been extended indefinitely to allow more time for negotiations, but no clear deadline has been set for Iran to present a peace proposal. Reports suggest that talks could resume within days, though both sides remain divided on key issues such as sanctions, nuclear policy, and military presence in the region.

Despite the pause in direct conflict, tensions remain high. The United States continues to maintain a naval blockade, while Iran has responded by tightening control over the strategic Strait of Hormuz, impacting global oil supply routes and increasing geopolitical pressure.

Analysts warn that the absence of a defined timeline adds to uncertainty and increases the risk of renewed escalation. Iran has also indicated reluctance to engage in further talks unless key demands—such as lifting the blockade—are addressed, complicating the path toward a long-term agreement.

While Washington has shown willingness to continue diplomacy, officials have also signaled that the ceasefire is conditional and could collapse if negotiations fail to progress. In parallel, pressure remains on Iran to present a unified proposal, with warnings that patience may not last indefinitely.
