Iran Defence Ministry Says US Seeking ā€˜Face-Saving’ Way Out of War

Iran’s defence ministry has claimed that the United States is attempting to find a ā€œface-savingā€ way to exit the ongoing conflict, as diplomatic efforts gain momentum through mediated talks.

According to Iranian state media, a ministry spokesperson stated that Iran’s military strength has become a ā€œdominant force,ā€ suggesting that Washington is now looking for a way to withdraw without appearing to concede defeat.

The remarks come as US envoys travel to Islamabad for a new round of negotiations aimed at de-escalating tensions. However, Iranian officials have reiterated that no direct talks with the United States are planned, with communication expected to take place through intermediaries such as Pakistan.

The conflict, which has already caused significant geopolitical and economic disruptions, remains in a fragile phase despite ongoing ceasefire efforts. Analysts note that while both sides are exploring diplomatic options, deep differences persist on key issues, making a swift resolution unlikely.

Iran’s statement highlights the ongoing war of narratives between the two countries, with each side presenting its position as strategically stronger while simultaneously engaging in indirect diplomacy.
