Trump ‘Not Satisfied’ With Iran’s Proposal To Reopen Strait of Hormuz, End War

US President Donald Trump has reportedly rejected or shown dissatisfaction with Iran’s latest proposal aimed at reopening the strategically crucial Strait of Hormuz and ending the ongoing conflict between the two nations.

According to reports, Iran proposed reopening the Strait of Hormuz—a key global oil route—in exchange for the United States ending its military campaign and lifting restrictions. However, Tehran suggested postponing discussions on its nuclear program until a later stage.

The Trump administration has strongly opposed this approach, insisting that any agreement must directly address Iran’s nuclear ambitions from the beginning. US officials, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio, have emphasized that preventing Iran from developing nuclear weapons remains a top priority.

The ongoing disagreement has led to a diplomatic deadlock, with both sides unwilling to compromise on key issues. The conflict has also significantly impacted global energy markets, as disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz—through which nearly 20% of the world’s oil supply passes—have driven oil prices higher and increased economic uncertainty worldwide.

Despite ongoing diplomatic efforts involving mediators such as Pakistan, Oman, and Russia, no breakthrough has been achieved so far. The situation remains tense, with the possibility of further escalation if negotiations fail.
