Dubai Airports to Boost DXB Flights as UAE Airspace Fully Reopens

Dubai Airports has confirmed plans to significantly increase flight operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB) after the United Arab Emirates fully reopened its airspace.

The move comes after authorities lifted all precautionary restrictions that had been in place since late February due to regional tensions. With airspace now cleared, Dubai Airports said it is entering a new phase of recovery, gradually restoring flight schedules and increasing daily aircraft movements.

Officials stated that airlines will progressively resume normal operations, depending on the availability of regional flight routes beyond UAE borders. Coordination with international aviation authorities and neighboring countries remains key to ensuring smooth traffic flow.

During the disruption period, flights were limited and rerouted through safe air corridors, while airlines such as Emirates and flydubai worked to maintain essential connectivity. Now, with restrictions lifted, passenger demand is rising and airports are preparing for a surge in travel.

The UAE’s aviation sector had faced significant challenges over the past two months, with temporary closures and reduced operations due to security concerns linked to regional conflict. However, the reopening of airspace on May 2 marks a turning point, allowing both passenger and cargo services to return to normal levels.

Dubai Airports emphasized that operations will continue to scale up in phases, ensuring safety and efficiency as traffic increases. The airport is expected to quickly regain its position as one of the world’s busiest international hubs in the coming weeks.
